Gurgaon To Kozhikode Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Kozhikode, long known as Calicut, has a large Gulf-returned population and a strong retail and IT base. Kozhikode is one of the main points where bikes arrive from Gurgaon on the Malabar side.
This is a long one: about 2,485 km and 7–9 days on the road. Anyone who quotes you less than a week for a haul this size should be asked, politely, how they plan to do it. The route normally follows NH44 through Bengaluru and Mysuru, then Wayanad, or via Coimbatore and Palakkad.
| Road distance | About 2,485 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 7–9 days |
| Express transit | 4–6 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹6,850 onwards |
| Pickup | Gurgaon and the rest of NCR (Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Kozhikode and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The Wayanad ghat road (Thamarassery) can be affected by landslides in the monsoon. Carriers then take the Palakkad route, which adds a day.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Kozhikode. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Gurgaon.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect
Gurgaon has its own pickup routine. Gated societies, basement parking and RWA rules decide how smoothly a bike is collected, so we ask for the tower, the gate and a contact for the guard. Typical pickup points for Kozhikode bookings are Manesar, Sector 82, Sector 49, DLF Phase 1 and DLF Phase 3.
Vehicles for Kozhikode usually leave Gurgaon through Faridabad and Palwal and join the Agra corridor, a little shorter than starting from Delhi. Evening jams at Signature Tower and Sohna Road mean the best loading slots are before 10 am.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Kozhikode
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
This is the usual choice. The bike is packed at your door, travels in a closed vehicle and is brought to your Kozhikode address. Budget ₹6,850 to ₹9,350 for a commuter bike and 7–9 days of transit, and keep your phone on during the trip. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Kozhikode whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.
3. Ride it yourself
2,485 km means 7 days of riding and 6 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹5,250 for a commuter and about ₹7,850 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Gurgaon To Kozhikode Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For
No one should pay for a Gurgaon to Kozhikode bike move without seeing the full breakup, so here it is.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹6,300 – ₹8,300 | 7–9 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹6,850 – ₹9,350 | 7–9 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹8,200 – ₹11,500 | 7–9 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹13,000 – ₹18,200 | 7–9 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹8,100)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Kozhikode) | ₹5,250 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹850 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,250 |
| Total | ₹8,100 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: optional cover at 2.5% of what you declare, never below ₹300. Declare ₹80,000 and it comes to about ₹2,000 plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 4–6 days.
- Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
- Waiting time: if the driver is kept waiting at pickup or delivery for hours, waiting charges can apply. Ask the policy before you book.
- Difficult access: a narrow lane or a low basement can mean a smaller vehicle for the last stretch, and that can cost extra. Say so when you ask for the quote.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon
Before any money moves for a Gurgaon to Kozhikode booking, go through these points. They apply to every company, including us.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Kozhikode delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 2,485 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
- Plan the Kozhikode delivery. Hillside streets in areas such as West Hill are steep and narrow, so a smaller vehicle may be needed.
List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Kozhikode (And When NOC Matters)
You do not need a stack of paperwork to send a bike from Gurgaon. You need enough to show the bike is yours and legal to move. Our documents required for bike transport article has the long version; this is what matters on the Gurgaon to Kozhikode lane.
Keep these ready
- Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Kozhikode for the driver.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
- Owner's ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the name matching the RC.
- Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Kozhikode. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
- Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
- Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
When NOC matters
An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Kerala for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Kozhikode.
If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.
Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Kozhikode: Pickup To Delivery
Here is the sequence on a typical booking. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Ask for a quote. Fill the form at the top of this page or call +91 96713 11891. Share the bike model, pickup area and the Kozhikode address.
- Compare and confirm. You get a written quote with the days. Pay a small booking amount only after reading it.
- Clear the bike. Remove the helmet lock gadgets, mirrors-mounted cameras and luggage. Keep one key and the RC with you.
- Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
- While it travels. Keep your phone on. A delay from weather or a breakdown is reported to you, not hidden until the due date.
- Delivery slot. The driver calls before arrival. Share the exact address, gate and a person who can sign.
- Check, sign and pay the balance. Compare the bike against your pickup photos before signing. Write any scratch on the delivery sheet at the time.
In Kozhikode we usually deliver to Mavoor Road, Palayam, Nadakkavu, West Hill, Kallai Road and Thondayad. Hillside streets in areas such as West Hill are steep and narrow, so a smaller vehicle may be needed.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)
- Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
- Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
- Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
- Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
- A mistake specific to Kozhikode. Not asking which route the carrier takes. If the ghat road is closed the carrier needs the longer way, and the price or days may change.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Mavoor Road, Palayam, Nadakkavu, West Hill, Kallai Road and Thondayad. Hillside streets in areas such as West Hill are steep and narrow, so a smaller vehicle may be needed.
