Gurgaon To Jodhpur Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies

Army and air force postings, AIIMS and IIT students, and handicraft exporters make Jodhpur a regular destination.

The road distance is roughly 570 km, and most bikes arrive in 3–4 days from pickup. That is quick enough that people often ask whether they should ride instead; the section below compares both honestly. The route normally follows NH48 to Jaipur, then Ajmer and on towards Jodhpur.

Why the timing changes

Summer heat and sandstorms in May and June can slow driving, and the Ajmer–Jodhpur stretch is narrow in places.

Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:

  • How often carriers leave for Jodhpur. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
  • Season. Dense fog between late December and January is the usual slowdown on this side of the country. Summers are hot but rarely change the schedule.
  • Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from inside Gurgaon's sectors is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
  • Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.

Pickup from Gurgaon: what to expect

Most Gurgaon bookings begin in a society or a company campus. Common starting points are Manesar, Sector 82, Sector 49, DLF Phase 1 and DLF Phase 3. A pre-informed guard saves an hour at the gate.

Gurgaon sits on NH48, so a vehicle heading for Jodhpur joins the highway without crossing Delhi. That usually saves 25 to 35 km and the slowest part of the trip, the Delhi border. Office-hour traffic on Golf Course Road and at Hero Honda Chowk is heavy, which is why morning pickups are the easiest.

How to shift my Bike from Gurgaon! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Gurgaon To Jodhpur

There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.

1. Door-to-door by covered carrier

The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Jodhpur address. A commuter bike runs about ₹3,300 to ₹4,550, with 3–4 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.

2. Railway parcel

Indian Railways does carry two-wheelers as parcel. You book at the parcel office, the bike is packed (the tank must be nearly empty), and it travels station to station. You then collect it from Jodhpur yourself, and get it home. At 570 km the saving over a carrier is small and the handling is rougher. Our train vs truck comparison goes through it in detail.

3. Ride it yourself

About 570 km takes 2 days on a bike. Fuel at roughly 45 km a litre and ₹95 a litre comes to about ₹1,200. Two-wheelers are exempt from toll, which helps. You also have to get yourself back home or onward after riding one way, which people forget while comparing prices.

Rider on a motorcycle on a mountain road, the do-it-yourself alternative to shipping a bike from Gurgaon to Jodhpur

If you have time and a healthy bike, riding is cheapest. If you are travelling with luggage, family or on a train, the carrier is the easier option. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.

Gurgaon To Jodhpur Bike Transport Costs in 2026: What You’re Really Paying For

Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.

Bike typePrice range (incl. GST)Delivery
Scooter / moped (up to 125cc)₹3,050 – ₹4,0003–4 days
Commuter bike (100–160cc)₹3,300 – ₹4,5503–4 days
Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc)₹3,950 – ₹5,5503–4 days
Sports bike (300cc+)₹6,300 – ₹8,8003–4 days
Superbike (650cc+)Quoted after we know the exact model

Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹3,900)

ItemApprox. amount
Line-haul freight (Gurgaon to Jodhpur)₹2,200
Loading, strapping and standard wrap₹350
Door pickup and door delivery₹750
GST at 18%₹600
Total₹3,900

What can change the final figure

  • Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹1,00,000 that is about ₹2,500, plus GST.
  • Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 1–2 days.
  • Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
  • Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
  • Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.

The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Gurgaon

A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.

  • Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Jodhpur delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
  • Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 570 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
  • Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
  • Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
  • Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
  • Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
  • Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
  • Plan the Jodhpur delivery. The old Blue City lanes cannot take a truck, so we use the nearest wide road.

List of Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Jodhpur (And When NOC Matters)

Most bike shipments from Gurgaon are held up by missing papers, not by the road. Here is what to keep ready for Jodhpur, and the longer list is in our documents article.

Keep these ready

  • Phone numbers and landmarks: one contact in Gurgaon for the guard and one in Jodhpur for the driver.
  • RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike; you keep the original. Gurgaon bikes carry an HR-26 plate, though many local bikes are still on DL plates.
  • Owner's ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the name matching the RC.
  • Address proof: for the pickup in Gurgaon and for the delivery in Jodhpur. A rent agreement or utility bill works.
  • Insurance copy: the current policy. Third-party cover is the minimum, and the policy should not be expired on the day of loading.
  • Authority letter: if a friend, relative or the society staff hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.

When NOC matters

An NOC is not needed just to put a bike on a carrier. It matters when the bike will live in Rajasthan for a long time. Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for over 12 months has to be registered afresh there. For that you need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the registering authority of the bike, normally the Gurugram RTO for an HR-26 plate or the Delhi RTO for a DL plate, and then you register with the RTO in Jodhpur.

If the move is temporary, for a course or a short posting, you can usually keep the existing registration and skip the NOC. When in doubt, apply for the NOC before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Clear any pending challans first, since they can hold the application up. Owners who qualify for a BH series plate do not need re-registration at all.

Complete Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Jodhpur: Pickup To Delivery

This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.

  1. Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Splendor or Activa and the drop is near Shastri Nagar, mention it so the quote fits.
  2. Confirm the booking. Check the days and the price, then pay the booking amount. Keep the receipt; you will need it at delivery.
  3. Clear the bike. Remove the helmet lock gadgets, mirrors-mounted cameras and luggage. Keep one key and the RC with you.
  4. Handover in DLF Phase 3 or nearby. The crew walks around the bike with you, notes every mark, ties it down and hands you the condition sheet.
  5. Transit to Jodhpur. Expect about 3–4 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
  6. Be reachable. The driver rings ahead. Have the gate pass or society permission ready so the vehicle is not turned away.
  7. Inspect and close. Match the bike to the pickup photos, start it, and note any damage on the paper before you sign and pay.

In Jodhpur we usually deliver to Shastri Nagar, Ratanada, Paota, Basni, Sardarpura and Chopasni Road. The old Blue City lanes cannot take a truck, so we use the nearest wide road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Transport Route from Gurgaon (And How You Avoid Them)

  • Booking a pickup at peak hours. Between 9 and 11 am and from 5 to 8 pm the roads around Golf Course Road and Hero Honda Chowk are jammed. Ask for an early slot.
  • Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
  • Choosing only on price. A quote far below the others usually means a shared, transfer-heavy journey or missing insurance.
  • Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
  • A mistake specific to Jodhpur. Moving in peak summer without ensuring the bike is kept covered. Heat on the carrier roof can fade seat covers, so ask for a covered body.
  • Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Shastri Nagar, Ratanada, Paota, Basni, Sardarpura and Chopasni Road. The old Blue City lanes cannot take a truck, so we use the nearest wide road.
