Delhi To Coimbatore Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Textile mills, pump and engineering workshops and PSG and Amrita students make Coimbatore one of the longest regular routes from Delhi.
At about 2,370 km the transit is 7–9 days. Treat that as the time the vehicle is moving, and keep one more day free on either side for pickup and for taking delivery. The route normally follows NH44 to Bangalore, then Hosur, Salem and Coimbatore.
| Road distance | About 2,370 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 7–9 days |
| Express transit | 4–6 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹6,700 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Coimbatore and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
At almost 2,400 km, small delays add up. The Bangalore–Salem section has heavy truck traffic, and the Western Ghats near Coimbatore get strong monsoon rain.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Coimbatore. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Coimbatore
People usually ask which method is best, and the honest answer depends on distance, the bike, and how much you want to handle yourself.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Coimbatore address. A commuter bike runs about ₹6,700 to ₹9,200, with 7–9 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Coimbatore whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.
3. Ride it yourself
2,370 km means 6 days of riding and 5 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹5,000 for a commuter and about ₹7,500 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Coimbatore Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹6,200 – ₹8,150 | 7–9 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹6,700 – ₹9,200 | 7–9 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹8,050 – ₹11,300 | 7–9 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹12,750 – ₹17,900 | 7–9 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹7,950)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Coimbatore) | ₹5,150 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹850 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,200 |
| Total | ₹7,950 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹70,000 that is about ₹1,750, plus GST.
- Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 4–6 days.
- Difficult access: if the truck cannot reach your gate, a smaller vehicle for the last stretch may cost extra. Tell us the address up front.
- Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
- Premium wrap: costs about ₹900 more for thicker padding and a frame around the bike. Sensible for a new or expensive machine.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Coimbatore delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 2,370 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Verify who you are paying. A genuine company will give you a GST number, a registered address and an office phone. Check them, and read the Google reviews.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Keep the advance small. A booking amount is normal. Anyone who wants the full payment before the bike has even been picked up deserves suspicion.
- Get a driver or coordinator number. You should be able to reach a real person while the bike is moving.
- Read the insurance. Ask for the policy copy, what is covered (theft, accident, damage in loading), the excess, and who to call after a problem.
- Plan the Coimbatore delivery. Gandhipuram and Town Hall are crowded, so the bike is handed over on an approach road.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Coimbatore (And When NOC Matters)
To hand over the bike you need very little. The real paperwork starts after delivery, if you plan to register the bike in Tamil Nadu.
- RC book or smart card: hand over a photocopy and keep the original yourself.
- Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
- Insurance copy: the current policy, not an expired one. Third-party cover is the minimum.
- Contact details: a phone number and landmark for both Delhi and Coimbatore.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows hypothecation, carry the lender's consent letter for the move.
- Letter of authority: needed when a relative or friend hands over or receives the bike, with their ID attached.
When NOC matters
Moving a bike to another state does not need an NOC for the transport itself. It matters when you want to re-register the bike in Tamil Nadu. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a registration from another state stays valid for twelve months, and after that you must apply for a new registration number. The Delhi transport office issues the NOC for that, and if the bike is financed, the lender has to clear it first.
Coimbatore has several RTO offices (TN-37, TN-38 and TN-66 are among them), and your locality decides which one applies.
Keep two things in mind. A BH (Bharat) series plate does not need re-registration after a state change, if you are eligible for one. And rules for older vehicles in Delhi–NCR have shifted over the years, so confirm the current position for your bike's age before you book. Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Coimbatore: Pickup To Delivery
Most bookings follow these seven steps. Our how it works page has more detail.
- Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Duke or R15 and the drop is near RS Puram, mention it so the quote fits.
- Read the quote. For 2,370 km it should show the total with GST, about 7–9 days on the road, and what is included. A commuter bike on this route starts near ₹6,700.
- Get the bike ready. Leave about a litre of petrol, take off bags and phone mounts, and wash it so existing marks are clear. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
- Pickup in Delhi NCR. The crew inspects the bike with you, photographs it, wraps and straps it, and gives you a signed condition sheet.
- Transit to Coimbatore. Expect about 7–9 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
- Fix the delivery time. If you are in RS Puram or Peelamedu, tell the driver the society name and gate number, and who will be there.
- Receive the bike. Walk around it with the pickup photos in hand. Sign only after you are satisfied, and keep your copy of the sheet.
In Coimbatore we usually deliver to RS Puram, Peelamedu, Saravanampatti, Singanallur, Gandhipuram and Race Course. Gandhipuram and Town Hall are crowded, so the bike is handed over on an approach road.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Ignoring the weather. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi. Ask for a flexible window.
- Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
- Leaving accessories on. Mirrors, GPS holders, saddlebags and phone mounts go missing or break. Take them off.
- A mistake specific to Coimbatore. Choosing the quickest quote on a 2,000-plus km route. A low price usually means a stop-and-load model with long waits.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include RS Puram, Peelamedu, Saravanampatti, Singanallur, Gandhipuram and Race Course. Gandhipuram and Town Hall are crowded, so the bike is handed over on an approach road.
