Delhi To Jagdalpur Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies
Jagdalpur is the main town of Bastar, a tribal region with forests and waterfalls. Bikes travel there with government officers, forest staff and mining contractors.
The road distance is about 1,600 km and the usual transit is 5–7 days from the day the carrier leaves Delhi. Add a day at either end for pickup and for the delivery appointment, and you have the real timeline. The route normally follows NH19 and NH30 to Raipur, then NH30 through Kanker and Kondagaon.
| Road distance | About 1,600 km |
|---|---|
| Standard transit | 5–7 days |
| Express transit | 4–6 days |
| Starting price (commuter bike) | ₹5,750 onwards |
| Pickup | Delhi and NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) |
| Delivery | Door delivery in Jagdalpur and nearby areas |

Why the timing changes
The last 300 km from Raipur is a forest road with limited stopping points, and vehicles avoid it after dark.
Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:
- How often carriers leave for Jagdalpur. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
- Season. Fog on the northern leg in winter and heavy monsoon rain from July to September are the two periods when this route runs slower.
- Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
- Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.
How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Jagdalpur
There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.
1. Door-to-door by covered carrier
The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Jagdalpur address. A commuter bike runs about ₹5,750 to ₹7,900, with 5–7 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.
2. Railway parcel
Possible, but slow. The bike goes by parcel train from a Delhi station, and you collect it at Jagdalpur. Packing is on you, the tank must be nearly empty, and transit depends on which trains run that week, so it can take longer than a carrier. If the parcel office at Jagdalpur cannot take two-wheelers, you are stuck, so ask first. See our train vs truck comparison.
3. Ride it yourself
1,600 km is 4 days of riding at a comfortable pace, and 3 nights on the road. Fuel is around ₹3,400 for a commuter bike (about ₹5,050 for a 350cc Royal Enfield). Toll is free for bikes, but hotels, food and a return ticket are not. It works if you want the trip. It does not work if you are in a hurry or the bike is new and still running in.

For most people moving house or job, the covered carrier is the one that makes sense. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.
Delhi To Jagdalpur Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For
Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.
| Bike type | Price range (incl. GST) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Scooter / moped (up to 125cc) | ₹5,300 – ₹7,000 | 5–7 days |
| Commuter bike (100–160cc) | ₹5,750 – ₹7,900 | 5–7 days |
| Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc) | ₹6,900 – ₹9,700 | 5–7 days |
| Sports bike (300cc+) | ₹10,950 – ₹15,350 | 5–7 days |
| Superbike (650cc+) | Quoted after we know the exact model | |
Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹6,800)
| Item | Approx. amount |
|---|---|
| Line-haul freight (Delhi to Jagdalpur) | ₹4,300 |
| Loading, strapping and standard wrap | ₹700 |
| Door pickup and door delivery | ₹750 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,050 |
| Total | ₹6,800 |
What can push the price up or down
- Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹1,00,000 that is about ₹2,500, plus GST.
- Express delivery: costs roughly a quarter more on the transport charge and cuts the trip to 4–6 days.
- Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
- Premium wrap: costs about ₹900 more for thicker padding and a frame around the bike. Sensible for a new or expensive machine.
- Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.
The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi
A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.
- Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Jagdalpur delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
- Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 1,600 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
- Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
- Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
- Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
- Look at the insurance papers. Find out what is covered (theft, accident, loading damage), what you pay first, and whom to call if something goes wrong.
- Do not pay in full upfront. A small booking amount is fine. If someone asks for everything before pickup, that is a warning sign.
- Plan the Jagdalpur delivery. Parts of Bastar are best avoided after dark, and local checkpoints can slow movement. Plan a daytime delivery.
Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Jagdalpur (And When NOC Matters)
To hand over the bike you need very little. The real paperwork starts after delivery, if you plan to register the bike in Chhattisgarh.
- RC (registration certificate): a copy goes with the bike, and the original stays with you.
- Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Jagdalpur end.
- ID proof: Aadhaar, driving licence or passport of the owner.
- Authorisation letter: if someone other than the owner hands over or receives the bike, with their ID.
- Loan papers: if the RC shows hypothecation, carry the lender's consent letter for the move.
- Valid insurance: a copy of the bike's current policy.
When NOC matters
Moving a bike to another state does not need an NOC for the transport itself. It matters when you want to re-register the bike in Chhattisgarh. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a registration from another state stays valid for twelve months, and after that you must apply for a new registration number. The Delhi transport office issues the NOC for that, and if the bike is financed, the lender has to clear it first.
Bastar district registers vehicles at the Jagdalpur RTO, and the Delhi NOC and an address proof are needed.
Keep two things in mind. A BH (Bharat) series plate does not need re-registration after a state change, if you are eligible for one. And rules for older vehicles in Delhi–NCR have shifted over the years, so confirm the current position for your bike's age before you book. Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)
- Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
- Not checking who signs. Whoever signs at delivery accepts the bike as is, so have the right person there.
- Leaving accessories on. Mirrors, GPS holders, saddlebags and phone mounts go missing or break. Take them off.
- A mistake specific to Jagdalpur. Planning a night delivery. Vehicles do not travel in parts of Bastar after dark, so the delivery should be in daytime.
- Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Dalpat Sagar Road, Sirisguda, Chandni Chowk, Dharampura, Dimrapal and Lohandiguda Road. Parts of Bastar are best avoided after dark, and local checkpoints can slow movement. Plan a daytime delivery.
