Delhi To Nellore Bike Transport Basics: Distance, Time, And Why It Varies

Aquaculture, rice and the Krishnapatnam port keep Nellore busy, and the nearby tech and power projects bring managers from Delhi who need a bike for the coastal roads.

This is a long one: about 2,000 km and 6–8 days on the road. Anyone who quotes you less than a week for a haul this size should be asked, politely, how they plan to do it. The route normally follows NH44 to Hyderabad, then Vijayawada and the NH16 coastal highway.

Why the timing changes

The coastal highway is flat and quick, but cyclone alerts from October to December and the Penna river floods can add days.

Besides that, four things move the date more than anything else:

  • How often carriers leave for Nellore. A bike booked on a day when a vehicle is already loading leaves sooner than one that waits for a full load.
  • Season. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
  • Where you are in the NCR. Pickup from Delhi proper is quickest. If you are in Gurgaon, Noida or Faridabad, mention your sector when you ask for the quote.
  • Who receives it. A delivery that needs an RWA letter or gate pass takes longer than one where the driver can park outside and hand over.

How to Ship my Bike! - 3 Ways To Transport Your Bike From Delhi To Nellore

There are really only three options. Here is how each one works out on this route.

1. Door-to-door by covered carrier

The crew comes to you, wraps the bike, ties it down inside a covered body, and delivers to your Nellore address. A commuter bike runs about ₹6,300 to ₹8,650, with 6–8 days on the road. You only need to be present at pickup and at delivery. Read more on our door-to-door bike transport page.

2. Railway parcel

On this distance, parcel trains involve more than one connection, and a bike left at a transfer station gets damaged more often than one on a single carrier. If you do try it, book a direct service where possible, and ask the parcel office at Nellore whether they take two-wheelers. More on that in our train vs truck guide.

3. Ride it yourself

2,000 km means 5 days of riding and 4 hotel nights. Fuel alone is about ₹4,200 for a commuter and about ₹6,350 for a 350cc bike. It is a real trip, not a relocation tool, and a long ride ages tyres, chain and brakes. Few people do it for a house move.

At this distance, a covered carrier is the only practical way to move the bike, unless you want an adventure. We handle everything from motorcycles and scooters to Royal Enfield and sports bikes.

Delhi To Nellore Bike Transport Costs: What You’re Really Paying For

Prices below are what most customers pay on this route. They are ranges because the same cc can mean different weight and handling, and because carriers price by the week's load.

Bike typePrice range (incl. GST)Delivery
Scooter / moped (up to 125cc)₹5,800 – ₹7,6506–8 days
Commuter bike (100–160cc)₹6,300 – ₹8,6506–8 days
Royal Enfield / cruiser (350–650cc)₹7,550 – ₹10,6006–8 days
Sports bike (300cc+)₹11,950 – ₹16,7506–8 days
Superbike (650cc+)Quoted after we know the exact model

Where the money goes (commuter bike, mid-range quote of ₹7,500)

ItemApprox. amount
Line-haul freight (Delhi to Nellore)₹4,800
Loading, strapping and standard wrap₹800
Door pickup and door delivery₹750
GST at 18%₹1,150
Total₹7,500

What can push the price up or down

  • Transit insurance: 2.5% of the declared value, with a minimum of ₹300. On a bike valued at ₹1,00,000 that is about ₹2,500, plus GST.
  • Express delivery: adds about 25% to the transport portion and brings the time down to 4–6 days.
  • Premium wrap: adds about ₹900 for extra padding and a crate-style frame, worth it for a new or high-value bike.
  • Depot instead of door: if you can bring the bike to a hub or collect it from one, the ₹750 door charge and its GST drop off.
  • Waiting time: a driver held up for hours at either end may bill for the wait. Ask what the rule is before you book.

The price rises with distance, but not in a straight line. The first few hundred kilometres cost more per km than the rest, because loading, packing and paperwork are fixed. The Safety Checklist Before You Pay Any Advance for Bike Shipping from Delhi

A few minutes of checking can save you a lot. Here is what to confirm before paying anyone an advance.

  • Get the quote in writing. It should name the pickup address, the Nellore delivery address, packing, insurance, GST and the days promised.
  • Ask if the bike stays on one vehicle. Over 2,000 km, a transfer at a hub is where most damage and delay happen.
  • Prepare the bike. Keep fuel to about a litre, tape or disconnect the battery lead, remove loose accessories and keep one key with you. Our how to prepare your bike guide covers the rest.
  • Pay a company account. Get a receipt or invoice. Payments to personal numbers with no bill are hard to dispute later.
  • Check the company is real. Ask for the GST number, the registered office address and a landline or office you can visit or video call. Search the name with reviews.
  • Do a pickup inspection. Photos or a video of the bike from all sides, with the odometer reading, and a signed condition sheet.
  • Ask for a contact number for the trip. Someone should pick up the phone while your bike is on the road.
  • Plan the Nellore delivery. Layouts developed on the outskirts have uneven roads. Share the layout name and a map pin.

Documents You Usually Need for Bike Transport from Delhi to Nellore (And When NOC Matters)

The carrier needs only a few papers to accept the bike. The heavier paperwork comes later, when you register in Andhra Pradesh.

  • RC book or smart card: hand over a photocopy and keep the original yourself.
  • Insurance copy: the current policy, not an expired one. Third-party cover is the minimum.
  • Owner's ID: any one of Aadhaar, driving licence or passport, with the same name as the RC.
  • Authorisation letter: if someone other than the owner hands over or receives the bike, with their ID.
  • Addresses and phone numbers: a working contact and a landmark at the Delhi end and at the Nellore end.
  • Loan papers: if the RC shows hypothecation, carry the lender's consent letter for the move.

When NOC matters

Moving a bike to another state does not need an NOC for the transport itself. It matters when you want to re-register the bike in Andhra Pradesh. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, a registration from another state stays valid for twelve months, and after that you must apply for a new registration number. The Delhi transport office issues the NOC for that, and if the bike is financed, the lender has to clear it first.

Nellore's RTO handles registration. The Delhi NOC and an address proof are needed to re-register a bike.

One more point. If you qualify for the BH (Bharat) series, you do not need to re-register when you move states. Also check the current rules on older vehicles in Delhi–NCR with the transport department, because they have changed more than once. Step-By-Step Booking Process of Bike Transport from Delhi to Nellore: Pickup To Delivery

This is how a normal booking runs. Our how it works page has more detail.

  1. Start with the form. Give your name, number and bike. If the bike is a Pulsar or Jupiter and the drop is near Dargamitta, mention it so the quote fits.
  2. Compare and confirm. You get a written quote with the days. Pay a small booking amount only after reading it.
  3. Get the bike ready. Leave about a litre of petrol, take off bags and phone mounts, and wash it so existing marks are clear. Rain on the west side from June to September and the north-east monsoon on the east coast from October to December slow trucks. Winter fog affects only the first day out of Delhi.
  4. Pickup day. Someone should be at the house to sign. The bike is photographed from all sides, wrapped, strapped and loaded.
  5. Transit to Nellore. Expect about 6–8 days on the road. You get the driver or coordinator number for updates.
  6. Be reachable. The driver rings ahead. Have the gate pass or society permission ready so the vehicle is not turned away.
  7. Receive the bike. Walk around it with the pickup photos in hand. Sign only after you are satisfied, and keep your copy of the sheet.

Mistakes People Make On This Bike Shipping Route (And How You Avoid Them)

  • Leaving a full tank. Carriers can refuse a bike with lots of fuel. Keep about a litre.
  • Booking too late. Last-minute bookings get whatever vehicle is free, often at a higher rate. Book three to five days ahead on this route.
  • Trusting a verbal promise. If the days or the price are not on paper, they are not a promise.
  • A mistake specific to Nellore. Booking in cyclone season without a flexible date. Weather alerts can stop vehicles at Ongole or Gudur.
  • Not planning the drop. Typical delivery areas include Dargamitta, Vedayapalem, Stonehousepeta, Magunta Layout, Balaji Nagar and Pogathota. Layouts developed on the outskirts have uneven roads. Share the layout name and a map pin.
